Density is a key ingredient for a vibrant city, and if people have cars it’s cheaper to sprawl than to build a dense city. The way around this problem is to build your city on an island or peninsula or mountain hollow or some other awkward landform that makes sprawling difficult or impossible. Make your next move to a city in a volcano caldera or in a giant tree and you’ll be sure to have cool museums, great food culture and a thriving art scene.
