Rygar for the NES is an adventure RPG with no save function or password system. It is well designed in other respects, but this was a killer flaw. It takes hours to complete and turning off your Nintendo meant you had to start over from scratch. In 1986 this was not a good game.
Today, almost any emulation platform you choose will have some sort of save or snapshot system built in. Rygar, which was an elaborate chore of a game, becomes a well designed sometimes surprising adventure. Like a lot of action RPGs and unlike a lot of other Nintendo games it is designed to be won! Give it a try on the Switch or wherever you play Nintendo.
