
Reed always looks like he’s about to murder someone for no reason. This works very well in movies where you need a guy like that, but then there are scenes where he’s like making breakfast or smiling at a loved one and you’re still just waiting for him to murder someone.
In retrospect, it’s strange that a generation of actors had room for Oliver Reed and Klaus Kinski types instead of folks that could act like murderheads when called upon and then also act like non-murderheads when it was required.
Also, maybe don’t let young children watch Oliver! (1968)
