Achewood is a Comedy Parallel Universe

Many of the best Achewood jokes involve the strip taking place in a plausible parallel universe: Nice Pete and Todd the Squirrel consider Simon Little’s Patented Offensive for the Small as a shiv technique and concluding that it shows “a great deal of class.” A lot of Kennith and Jenna jokes in 30 Rock work the same way: The Royal Tampa Academy of Dramatic Tricks.

I think not-necessarily-funny characters in a plausible but funny world is a really nice way for a comedy to work, and I’d like to see more of it.
